This article is part of Precious Plastic, a One Army project tackling the plastic waste problem. You can learn more

Every now and then Precious Plastic gets involved into helping people out individually. We don’t often do this because our team is super small and we are focussing on the development of the project over the internet, for everyone. But sometimes you just feel a need to help out, @mattia-io wrote a piece about the process of his latest trip to Morocco:
Today I am in Marrakesh,
mentoring a Precious Plastic project,
at Houna Innovation Camp.
Showing well dressed COP22 diplomats,
people are getting their hands dirty.
Muezzin is chanting,
over trump news.
People are thrilled,
over melting plastic.
Sustainability is out of fashion,
gotta call it circular economy now.
The event marks the closing of a cycle.
A personal dream of mine.
Eighteen months ago,
whilst traveling across Marocco,
sourcing fabrics for Captn-Crop,
I began the most delightful journey of my life,
Precious Plastic.
As we drove & drove,
through breathtaking sub-Saharan landscapes
I felt sad, depressed and ashamed.
A plastic nightmare.
Plastic bags, bottles, containers, bowls and the likes.
Profaning dunes, beaches, mountains, canyons & deserts.
Demons in paradise.
No mercy.
Everywhere. Forever.
As a global citizen, this my problem.
One of them.
I feel responsible.
Beyond näive hippie-ism.
I clearly remember,
driving to Errachidia.
Telling myself,
you will do something.
Back in Europe.
Wrote an email to Dave and started working on Precious Plastic.
Now we are friends.
With a shared cause & dreams.
Days & nights, countless hours.
Skype meetings, real meetings.
Honest meetings, corporate meetings.
Emails, posts, designs.
Redesigns. Re-re-designs.
Trips, events & many beautiful people along the way.
Precious Plastic is ready for the world.
