Did you know you can show the world how you make cool things from waste?

With the launch of Version 3, amongst other things, we’ve launched a super powerful feature (or at least we thought so). We put a lot of time and effort in this seemingly little thing. Lot’s of thinking, designing, planning and coding. Then as often happens, we eventually launched and no one cared 😅, or well, maybe it just got lost in the labyrinth of the Precious Plastic ecosystem (or at least this is what we like to tell ourselves).

This feature gives you (yes, you 😘) the opportunity to create video tutorials about your techniques & solutions to work with plastic and share it with the world. So it is not anymore just those bunch of weirdos from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 but people from everywhere with all their different approaches, ideas, stories and solutions fighting plastic pollution together. This could exponentially increase the amount of knowledge created, at least in theory. And we believe this can only be beneficial to the project and, ultimately, the salvation of human races from plastic waste 👊

If you haven’t spotted it yet...

We’ve created a dedicated section on our website for people to showcase their different video tutorials and techniques. In this regards, I’d like to give a big shout out to the first four workspaces sharing what they know in a truly open source manner (Bope shop, Happenstance, Umelohmotné and Kunststoffschmiede). We absolutely love to see how these people use and improve our knowledge. Needless to say, we would love to see more from all of you around the world melting carbon chains 🔥to make the world a better place.

To facilitate the creation process we have also made a video to teach you how to create a video to share with people. There we explain all the basic tools, procedures, tips & tricks to make a cool video that is clear and easy to understand for our audience. Of course, we couldn’t share with you the secrets behind Dave’s charm in front of the camera 😝

We also understand it can be a bit daunting and scary to be in front of the camera and show your face to the world (still scares the 💩 out of me). But after a couple of shots and try outs you should become more confident & relaxed and everything will work out smoothly.

Before launching we thought submissions were gonna pour in our mailbox. This didn’t happen 😅 We get it, we’re all very busy & stuff. But maybe there is something else preventing you from sharing your technique? Have we missed something? Can we improve somehow? What would you need to create your first video tutorial to teach people around the world? Equipment? Filmmakers? Softwares?
